K-Boom! Some massive changes…

We have recently made some changes in how BrixNation is going to operate.
Before, we decided that the server application wouldn’t be made public, and we would run all of the servers. That’s all changed.
You can now run your own server either in-game, or using the dedicated server application. Maybe for the release we will have integrated a VPN system meaning you don’t have to forward your ports…
Also, we won’t be a game which you can join for free, and have an optional premium service. BrixNation will cost £9.99, and you will be able to buy it through PayPal on the website. You own the game for your entire life, and there is no premium service.
If you want the game for free, you can try out the demo version which will be available.
We hope this is all for the better future of BrixNation.

Hooray, I get to pay to host a server instead of having good servers already set up.

That’s just crap and I shan’t be purchasing it.
I understand what you are saying, but at the end of the day I have to make a decision on how BrixNation is going to be sustainable for the future. If the game is completely free, then you can’t really expect us to be paying £500+ a month for quality servers. That’s why the decision was made for users to be able to host their own, as you have far more control over it, and also it is your game and it can’t start lagging due to perhaps someone elses game causing problems. I conducted a survey to see whether people would rather a monthly premium service, or a one off payment for the game and the one off payment option was highly preferred. I certainly would be more happy to pay a one off small fee instead of committing myself every month.
Whoa, thigns just got a whole lot easier.
